Otoyomegatari is taking a break in the March issue of Haruta magazine (Fellows! changed its name and rebooted in Feburary), but there IS a Shirley oneshot instead.
I don’t plan on doing it yet since I haven’t read any other Mori Maid Manga, maybe I’ll pick it up after I get through original Shirley.

I got a little experimental with a few of the speech bubbles, mostly the him/me and him/her gags, plus one with Mom that you’ll be able to spot. It’s not as pretty as I had hoped, but I think my favorite character from this arc deserves a little better than boring old words! Hope we’re not getting TOO crazy.
Re: food, I asked google for tastier synonyms for “boiled guts” and came up with Chitterlings/Chitlings. Better than haggis, which was my first idea.
“Fry cakes” seem to have a lot in common with the Okinawan treat known as Sata Andagi. Think donut holes and you’re pretty close.
